In this article, it explains in detail about what cloud computing is and talks about how it can benefit the user in a business. It also talks about the three main types of cloud computing services. According to this article, cloud computing refers to internet applications that can be accessed or managed without having to install any software on the user’s computer. The three main types of cloud computing are Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The SaaS are providers such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office 365. With this service, the user is able to open up word documents or pdf files without having the software installed on the computer. The PaaS includes software such as Windows Azure, which is used for application development. The user can get remote access to virtual computers over the internet. In Windows Azure, the user can use any language and any framework to build applications. The IaaS has services such as Amazon EC2. It is similar to the PaaS but it has more control over the operating system. The IaaS can use any operating system that the application requires, but the downside of this is that it does not support automatic patching.

Using the cloud computing services could save a lot of time and money. When it’s being used within a business, it would be much more useful since the workers would not have to go through the trouble of installing software on every computer. It would be much cheaper to just use the cloud computing service than purchasing multiple copies of the same software. The article also informs the reader on how the user should choose a host for the cloud computing service.  Services such as Windows Azure focus on using Windows as an operation system. It does automatic updating and patching, but it does not support Linux. Amazon EC2 is good for handling different types of operating systems, but it does not support any automatic updating.
