The authors proposes a type of Conventional Early Functional Size Estimation called e-Cosmeic. E-Cosmic uses “a mapping between functional size measurement components of COSMIC FSM Method and common business process model constructs” (Kaya, Demirors). As of the article printed the case studies consistently showed a less than ten percent deviation with respect to COSMIC FSM results. It says that the method needs some more testing in order to be proven right. And intends to make the method more general in order to further improve to widen its applicability.
It relates to the topics that we are discussing because of the charts that I have seen in it. It has a nice example of an E-R (Entity-relation) diagram (405, Kaya, Demirors) which is one of our learning objectives.
I like this article because it does not use to many technical terms that I do not know at this point. It is very useful at this point for people who intend to work in management, because FSM (Functional Size Measurement) is useful to have in order to predict the amount of resources needed to be used with out over or under buying too much.
