Why JavaScript?

by Evin C
Developing your own website is a lot more complex than some people can’t realize. Stepping into hypertext markup language (HTML) is only the start of what there is to learn. Using HTML will bring limitations that can only be overcome by advancing to java programming languages that tend to have a steep learning curve. According to the article I have read, “This is where JavaScript comes into place. It is targeted at intermediate Web developers who need a stepping stone between HTML and the more sophisticated and complex languages. Although simpler and easier to understand than Java, new users would still have to start somewhere.” The article goes on to promote a book that teaches inexperienced users how to begin, and also dives into the reasons behind JavaScript helpful interface.

Considering our discussions the last few classes, I feel this article relates directly to our class material. It touches on why we use JavaScript and to what end. Having only touched on HTML, this next project for our course should challenge our skill set. I hope to use this article and other related blogs to improve my work so that the next two projects aren’t as difficult as they may have been. I urge you to read this article and do the same!

I’ve learned what CSS is and HTML, however I was never familiar with Javascript, but implementing javascript really does make things go a little bit faster. We must start to learn more and more languages, until we become developers and not students.

JavaScript and HTML are both great to have knowledge about. HTML is the basis of creating a web site and i feel like if you have experience in Java Programming, the possibilities are endless to creating a functional and great website.
